Patricia Ann (Collins) Knoblett, 91, of Robinson, IL, passed on to her Lord and Savior on December 17, 2021, at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL. She was born September 13, 1930, in New Albany, IN, the daughter of Clifford C. & Cecil (Ewing) Collins.
Over the course of her life, she worked in a number of capacities: she directed strawberry picking for Pifer Farms for a time; she was a local beautician for 25 years before finding work at Victor Dana, where she retired after 22 years of service. She was always very active in her community throughout much of her 91 years. She was a Cub Scout leader for a time and was also active in the Palestine Junior Women's Club. As a young woman, she was the first runner-up to be the queen of the Palestine Sesquicentennial. She also served Palestine as a precinct committeewoman for the Republican Party.
Anyone who knew her could attest to the fact that faith played an important role in Pat's life. For years, she was a member of the Palestine First Methodist Church before transferring her membership to the Robinwood Assembly of God. Here, she was a very active part of the church's inner workings. For years, she was the head of the kitchen committee and also helped around the office for a time. Even at home, Pat would often be found deep in God's word and loved engaging with scripture and listening to sermons on tape. It should come as no surprise, then, that she found meaning in collecting angels, reminders of her Heavenly Father's power and provision. She was an avid doll collector as well.
In the twilight years of her life, she found great joy in watching squirrels, butterflies, and birds from her window and was especially enamored with cardinals. Though she enjoyed their companionship, they couldn't hold a candle to her family! Her loved ones were the light of her life, especially her grandkids. When they were younger, Pat loved nothing more than taking them out on little adventures, and these were some of the most precious moments of her life. Her love lives on in our hearts until that day comes when, by the grace of God, we are reunited for all of eternity.
Left behind to continue her legacy are her children & their spouses, Sharon & David Venters (Lawrenceville, IL), Peggy & Gary Cooper (Sullivan, IN), Nancy Waggoner (Robinson, IL), Terrie & Dave McDaniel (Palestine, IL), and Gary Knoblett (Robinson, IL); her grandchildren, Shane Dunlap, Rob Britton, Krista Hensley, Stacey Burgess, Gary I. Cooper, Kayla Adams, Brian Weck, Cody Waggoner, Jason Gaddis, Rikki Fuller, and Alex McDaniel; 20 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is also survived by her special friends of many years, Paul Rosenburg, Chuck Myers, and Jan Preston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford & Cecil Collins; by her sisters, Beth Piper, Nelda Winkler, Betty Simpson, Joann Frey, Sharon Collins, Doris Morris, and Carol Banta; by her brothers, Cleve, Jim, Marion, Bob, and Bill Collins; by her grandson, Tucker Knoblett; and by her great-grandson, Daniel Scott Brown.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22nd at the Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to "Samaritan's Purse", with envelopes available at the cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
