Glendeth Ann Meese, 94, of Robinson, IL, formerly of Oblong, passed away at 4:15

p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Timber Creek Assisted Living in Robinson.

Glendeth was born November 14, 1931, in West Union, Illinois, the daughter of

Clarence and Hazel Augusta (Meek) Hildebrand. She married James Walter "Jim"

Meese Jr. on November 24, 1955, in Willow Hill, IL. They shared many happy years

together until Jim's passing on October 31, 2017.

She is survived by her children, Craig Alan (Josette) Meese of Lafayette, Louisiana,

Scott Lee (Linda) Meese of Winchester, Tennessee, and Lori Ann (Kevin) Kemp of

Robinson; three grandchildren, Matthew (Holly) Kemp of Rogers, Arkansas, Michael

(Shannon) Kemp of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Daniel Meese of Nashville,

Tennessee; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew Kemp, Preston Kemp, Noelle Kemp,

and Victoria Kemp. She is also survived by one brother, Norman (Pat) Hildebrand of

Newton, her sister, Sandra Farley of Newton; three sisters-in-law, Martha Hildebrand of

Newton, Shirley (Jack) Harmon of Alhambra, and Sandy Meese of Fulshear, Texas; and

brother-in-law, Harold Frauli of Fulshear, Texas; along with several nieces, nephews,

and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; her father-in-law and

mother-in-law, Walter and Evelyn (Miller) Meese; a brother, Vernon Hildebrand; 5

brothers-in-law, Jerry Harmon, Dwight Francis, Harold Martin, Kent Farley, and Leroy

Meese; as well as three sisters-in-law, Erma Francis Martin, Barbara Harmon, Sue

Meese, and Linda Frauli.

Glendeth graduated from Newton Community High School in 1949. She later began a

long and dedicated career at the First National Bank of Oblong, where she served in

various capacities for many years. Through her work and friendly nature, she became a

familiar and trusted face to many in the community.

She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Oblong. Glendeth also

enjoyed spending time on the golf course and was proud to be a founding member of

the Oak Glennettes. She cherished time spent with family and friends and took great

pride in watching her family grow through the years.

A memorial service is being planned for the upcoming summer, and information will be

released at a later time.

1050th Ave., Oblong, IL 62449.
