Patricia Annette Lowery, age 76 of Lilburn, GA, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Pat was born in Harlem, New York, on July 14, 1947. She grew up in South Ozone Park, Queens, and as an adult, moved to Brooklyn, NY, where she began raising her family. In 1988, Pat moved to Lilburn, Georgia, where she raised her daughter through the completion of high school. She is preceded in death by her father, Cleveland Lowery Sr., and her mother, Marion Lowery.
She is survived by her former husband, James Roberts, and their daughter and son-in-law, Tanya Rogers and Erik Rogers; her grandchildren, Joshua Rogers and Kalani Rogers; her former husband, Philip Jackson, and his daughter; and her stepdaughter, Yvonne Jackson; along with Yvonne's son and daughter-in-law, Devin Ebanks and Candice Ebanks, and their daughter Soleil Ebanks; her brother, Cleveland Lowery Jr.; nephews and nieces, Cleveland Lowery III, Ciera Lowery, Brandon Lowery, Britney Lowery, Brooklyn Lowery; and a host of cousins in the U.S. and the Bahamas.
Pat had an avid interest in learning new things and was amongst the early group of individuals trained to work with mainframe computers for the stock exchange. Her love of computers and software continued for years to come. She was also a lover of growing things and was an excellent gardener, growing everything from flowers to vegetables. She maintained a beautiful garden and worked in landscaping in her latter years of employment. Her garden was always a source of pride and enjoyment for her.
Pat was a proud citizen with a strong commitment to civic engagement. She served with Action-Gwinnett County (formerly known as Organizing For America Gwinnett) and with the Gwinnett Democrats organizing citizens for action and educating the public on important political issues. She was passionate about this work and spent countless hours serving her county and her nation in this way, even opening her home for organizational meetings and phone bank activities.
Pat had a deep love for family. After retirement, she spent time caring for her grandchildren, and eventually took over the full-time care of her brother. Her love for and commitment to others will be fondly remembered and missed by many.
