It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the passing of Patricia (Merrow) Marshall. Patricia was the younger daughter of Lee and Zella (Washburn) Merrow. She was born in Lancaster, NH, on December 14, 1932. Patricia, or "Pat," was never at a loss for something to do. During her high school years, she was actively involved in orchestra, the glee club, basketball, and more. She graduated with the class of 1950 and immediately went to Boston to further her education by teaching tap dancing. She returned to Lancaster and opened her own studio on Main Street. In February of 1952, Pat married Wayne Marshall, and they moved to Manchester, NH. She began her career at New Hampshire Fire Insurance. After Wayne completed his education at Hesser College, they returned to Lancaster, purchased a home on Railroad Street, and started raising their family. In August 1956, they welcomed their first son, James, followed by John in August 1958. Wayne began working for New England Telephone, and the family once again relocated, this time to the Manchester area, where they lived until his retirement. Their summers were spent at Camp Iroquois on Lake Winnipesaukee. Pat enjoyed and excelled at bowling, earning many trophies, including high single (151) and high triple at Lakeside Lanes Candlepin Bowling in Manchester. She also became involved in town government, serving as the selectman's secretary, deputy town clerk, and deputy clerk of Auburn District Court. In later years, Pat became a real estate agent and successfully sold many properties in the North Country. The next 22 years saw Pat and Wayne traveling to Florida each November and returning to Lancaster in April. In 2010, they decided that moving to Florida would be a permanent decision. They sold their home in Lancaster and relocated to Umatilla, Florida. Both Pat and Wayne continued bowling and playing golf well into their late eighties. After 71 years of marriage, Wayne passed away in 2023. Patricia is survived by her much-beloved sister, Rachel of Penacook, NH; sons James (Robin) of Waterville, VT, and John (Billie) of Flowery Branch, Georgia; granddaughters Brooke, Jillian, and Nicole; grandsons Lee and Wesley; and two great-grandsons, Jackson and Hayes. Calling Hours will be held on Monday, October 6th from 6-8pm at Bailey Funeral Home, 210 Main Street, Lancaster. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am the following day at Bailey Funeral Home, with committal at Summer Street Cemetery in Lancaster.
