Patricia Jean Bednarczyk Martin (nee Kijewski)

Patricia J. "Pat" Martin, 81, of Orland Park passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, after a prolonged illness, with her devoted husband by her side.

Survived by John "Jack" Martin, loving husband of 49 years and best friend for 50 years; sisters Betty (Don) Gacek and Dolores Cmelo; sisters-in-law Mary Ann Kijewski and Terry Board; brothers-in-law William Jusack and Brian Board. Numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Pat was proceeded in death by her first husband, Frank Bednarczyk; parents, Walter and Anna Kijewski; siblings, Bernadine Bozacki, Arline Jusack, Richard "Oskie" Kijewski, and an infant brother; father-in-law, Lloyd Conley; brothers-in-law, Steven Cmelo and James Martin; sister-in-law, Linda Wilson, and a nephew, Teddy Bozacki.

Born in Chicago on December 21, 1943, Pat graduated from St. Willibrord High School. She worked various jobs in the food service industry as well as numerous secretarial positions, but what she was most proud of was being a homemaker. After marrying Jack in 1976, she was able to experience life in eight U.S. states, and together they traveled to many beautiful places. She loved to play golf and go for walks with her friends. Spending time with family was what Pat loved most, including her beloved pups Bogie, Katie, Buddy, Joey, and Jazzy, who were all waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge. Pat will always be remembered for her loyalty to her family, her sense of fun and adventure, her warm and welcoming nature, and the kindness of her heart.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 10:00AM at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan. Memorial service will take place the same morning at 11:00AM also at the funeral home. Private family interment.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations in Pat's name be made to NAWS Humane Society, 9981 190th St, Mokena, IL 60448, 708-478-5102, www.nawsus.org
