Patricia Meiwes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Alaska - Anchorage on Mar. 5, 2024.
Patricia "Pat" Ruth Meiwes, 66, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Anchorage Alaska, February 25, 2024.
Born April 11, 1957 in Vernonia, OR, Pat's family moved to Springfield, OR shortly after her birth. She attended St. Cecilia's and St. Mary's of the Valley Catholic schools, and graduated 1975. In Patricia later years, she attended the University of Alaska where she became proficient in American Sign Language.
Patricia went to work for Fred Meyer February 10, 1977. Pat remained with Fred Meyer until she retired in July 2017. A full 40 years of service. Pat worked in variety of roles in her career at Fred Meyers which included the following locations: Springfield and Gresham, Oregon. In June of 1985, she moved to Juneau, Alaska for a few months and then moved to Anchorage, Alaska. In 1999, Pat transferred to the Wasilla, Alaska Fred Meyer store where she retired from as a Home Electronics Manager.
Pat enjoyed life and wanted to see and learn how to do as much as she could. Pats spent many hours gardening and landscaping at her home. Every year, she had a large garden and green house that she took care of. She would always share the bounties with neighbors and friends. Pat made the best Jalapeno Pepper Jelly, all grown from her garden. During her spare time, Pat enjoyed doing crafts, any kind of craft she could find. From Painting, to wood work, quilting, to clay works, Pat loved it all. Pat was in multiple craft groups over the years and searched out people to learn from and do crafts with. Pat loved the outdoors from hunting for Bears, Moose, and Caribou then on to ice fishing in the winter. She went camping as often as she could leading to traveling the United States in her pickup and trailer. Last spring, she made one of her bucket list dream trips come true when she visited Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
Pat brought joy and laughter to those around her. While Pat had no children of her own, she took on the roll for many kids that worked with her and lived around her. Pat was an inspiration to her family and a very loyal to her friends around her. She will be missed by her family and friends, but always in our hearts.
Pat is preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Meiwes, Jim Meiwes, mother, Elizabeth Margaret Meiwes and her father, Conrad Joseph Meiwes.
She will be greatly missed.
Pat's wishes included any donations be sent to:

Way to soon, cousin! I hope you are finishing out that bucket list in Heaven and maybe fishing with your dad! Give him and your Uncle Bill the biggest of hugs from me. May you rest in peace and enjoy being reunited with the family.
