Patricia Merier Obituary

Patricia Merier

Our hearts are grieving the passing of Patricia "Faye" Perry Merier on her 83rd birthday at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, on Aug. 3, 2025

She was born in Glynn County in Sterling, Georgia on Aug. 3, 1942, to loving parents Rubye and Bernard Perry. She was the youngest of four children.

She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Wayne Merier; her son, Perry W. Merier; daughter-in-law, Summer Merier; two beautiful grandchildren, Hazel and Ruby Merier, all residing in Brunswick; her lifelong best friend, Wynell Bush Walczak, who was born just four days apart from her; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rubye and Bernard Perry; her sisters, Joyce P. McQuaig, Rounelle P. Faulkner and Carolyn P. Tipton; and her in-laws, David and Reba Merier.

In her early career, she worked for the Insurance Agency of Glynn, American National Bank, and later became the secretary for the dean at Coastal Georgia Community College. After marrying, she helped run the family business, The Piddlers Antiques, in Brunswick, until it closed in 2019.

She enjoyed her friends in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, her cats, Tucks and Mama Kitty, and most of all, cooking for and spending time with family at their camp on Honey Creek.

Active pallbearers for her service will be Butch Faulkner, Mark Tipton, Chad Mobley, Wyndel Herndon, Tim Sprouse and Chaz Evitts.

Honorary Pallbearers are the members of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Hospice of the Golden Isles.

A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home, followed by interment in Palmetto Cemetery.

Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is honored to have assisted the Merier family.
