Patricia Sue Helton Newell

Patricia Newell, born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Monnis Helton and Dexter McFarland Helton, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by love, in Corbin, KY on Thursday, March 6, 2025. 

She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, and all will deeply miss her. Patricia is survived by her sons, Charles and Phillip Newell, and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Wayne Willis, Margaret Ann Cecchin, Glenda Helton Quinn, Roger Helton, and Marcia Monde, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Newell; daughter, Rachel Newell; son, Johnny Newell; sisters, Lisa Cucura and Margie Roberts; and her grandson, Johnny Newell Jr. 

Her visitation will be held from 12 - 2 pm on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held at 2 pm with Rev. Mike McFarland officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Perkins Cemetery in Woodbine, Kentucky.
