Maureen Adele Jackson

Maureen Adele Kruies Jackson, age 94, departed this life on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Maureen was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucille Kruies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hurstle T. Jackson; and sisters, Marion G. May (John), Norma L. Ruziczka (Raymond), and Sharon L. Hurley (Donald); and nephew, Matthew M. May. Maureen was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Detroit, Michigan, and Grace on the Hill Community Church in Corbin.

She is survived by her nephew, Rhett Hurley, and wife, Barbara; and nieces, Riley Rose and Brynn Rhys, all of Croswell, Michigan. Her adopted state and family of Kentucky include Berniece Spurlock, Wayne and Tina Spurlock, Joyce Chadwell, Brenda Sowder, Hershell and Delores Parker, Jerry and Joyce Jackson, Ruth Ann Jackson, Marsha Jackson, Leetta Angel, and many more relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, KY.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the funeral home with Rev. Gordon McClure and Rev. Dennis McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at McHargue Cemetery in Lily, KY.

Pallbearers will be Josh Spurlock, Nathan Couch, Wayne Spurlock, Austin King, Alex Chadwell, Jay Angel, Amos Reid, Bryan Dezarn, and Parker Dezarn.
