Lisa Maria Jackson

Lisa Maria Jackson was born on March 3, 1966, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, to Reverend Hubert and Katie McLeod Jackson. She began her spiritual journey at Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi, and later united with Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in D'Iberville, Mississippi.
Lisa graduated from Biloxi High School in 1984 and furthered her education at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. She proudly served her country in the United States Navy for four years. Upon completing her honorable military service, she returned to Biloxi, Mississippi in 1992, where she dedicated thirteen years to Biloxi Public Schools. She was later employed with the Veterans Administration, retiring in 2023 after 21 years of devoted service.
Lisa was preceded in death by her beloved son, Brandon D'Aubra Spears; her paternal grandparents, Reverend Aubra D. and Rosa Hart Jackson; her maternal grandparents, William and Ernestine Fairley McLeod; and nephew, Hubert McLeod "Deuce" Jackson, II.
Lisa leaves to cherish her memory her son, Tonie (Yazmine) Spears; her parents: Reverend Hubert (Katie) Jackson, Sr.; her brother: Hubert "Burt" (Karyn) Jackson, Jr.; five grandchildren: Bralynn, Zalaya, Jaden, Kailyn, and Kayden; her niece, Kaitlyn Elise Jackson; her goddaughter: Laila Alesia Walker; a special group of sister/cousins known as The Porch Members: Leonette Davis, Elizabeth Letlow, Karen Cooke, Keenon Cooke-KPotufe, Dremicka Jackson, Ganece Darden, Marthena "Marty" Moffett, RaeShawn Bond, Sandra Johnson, Trena Mixon, and Tilda Wheeler; her very dear friend/sister: Cynthia Butler; her best friend: Deonna Peyton; her special friend: Somalia McDaniel; and many loving and devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lisa's legacy of love, friendship, and faith will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
