Norman Curtis Johnson Sr.

Norman Curtis Johnson, Sr., of London, Kentucky, was born on April 19, 1934, in Laurel County, Kentucky, to the late Henry M. Johnson and Rebecca Ellen Chesnut Johnson. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Kathleen Eunice Schorpp Johnson, who preceded him in death in March 2025.

He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory: six children, Shirley Brooks and husband Derek of Charlotte, North Carolina; Norman C. Johnson, Jr. and wife Patricia of London; Larry Johnson of London; Kimberly Burris and husband Dean of Cornelius, North Carolina; Deanna Turk of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Sharon Bowling of Lily, Kentucky. He is also survived by two brothers, Henry Dean Johnson of London and Donald Johnson of Eubank, Kentucky.

Norman's legacy continues through his eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and dear friends who mourn his passing and celebrate his life.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Norman honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a man of faith and a devoted member of the Baptist faith. He worked for the United States Postal Service and was also a farmer.

Norman Curtis Johnson, Sr. departed this life on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the age of 91 years and 10 days, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories for all who knew and loved him.

The funeral service for Norman Curtis Johnson will be conducted at 1 pm Friday, February 27 in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Dean Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Rough Creek Cemetery in London.

The family will receive friends beginning at 11 am Friday until the funeral hour of 1 pm at Bowling Funeral Home.
