Patricia Nordstrom Obituary

Patricia "Pattie" Nordstrom, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unforgettable spirit that touched everyone she met. Born in the Dyker Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY to Francis and Grace Farrell, she was one of twelve children in a lively Irish Catholic family. Though she was the youngest of the girls, she was still everyone's "baby sister".

Pattie was fiercely proud of her Brooklyn roots. After marrying the love of her life, John, she made the bold move over the bridge to Staten Island, NY to live within shouting distance of her mother and father-in-law. It was here that she and John began a family of their own with the birth of their son Johnny. They then moved to Belford, NJ the same day their daughter Amanda arrived and remained in Monmouth County to raise their family.

Before the big move to New Jersey, Pattie worked in New York City as an executive secretary at Goldman Sachs. Once her kids grew up, she devoted herself to her community as a one-on-one paraprofessional for special needs children at Bayview Elementary School, a role she cherished. She kept ties with those families of the children she worked with as they grew into thriving adults. She saw no disability, only potential; and helped foster independence and confidence in those kids she considered her own.

After retirement, Pattie and John began a new chapter of their life in The Villages, Florida, where she embraced golf and, much like everything else, became an enthusiastic competitor who was always ready for a challenge (and a lot of fun) on the green. It was here that they expanded their already close-knit circle of friends into a true Village family.

Pattie's vibrant personality and magnetic presence made people gravitate towards her. She was the glue that held people from all different social circles and walks of life together with her humor, honesty, and that natural ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Fitness and fashion were her trademarks of which she was always happy to share her secrets and "where she bought that".

In retirement, Pattie and John traveled extensively, especially enjoying cruises with close friends. Recent trips, including a Mediterranean cruise with her son and daughter-in-law and a visit to Jackson Hole with her daughter, created treasured memories.

Pattie is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, John, her daughter, Amanda, her son, John, and daughter-in-law, Kelly, her "grand-dogs," Fozzie and Benny, her large and loving extended family, and countless friends who became family. Pattie lived boldly, loved deeply, and will be forever missed.

A memorial service will be held at the Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 3990 E. SR 44 Suite 105 Wildwood, FL, 34785 on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 from 12 pm to 2 pm.
