Norris Boling Dudley, Jr., (98) of Oxford, went home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2025.

He was born in Oxford, Florida, on May 3, 1927, to parents Norris Boling Dudley, Sr., and Lois McGee Dudley. He graduated from Wildwood High School and received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida. He joined the Navy in 1945 and worked in helping to process discharges for the many sailors returning from World War II.

After leaving the Navy, Norris worked for the State of Florida Dept. of Vocational Rehabilitation before serving more than 25 years as an administrator at Baptist Hospital, Pensacola. At the same time, he was an active member of the Board of Directors of the Credit Union of Northwest Florida, Escambia County, before retiring to Central Florida.

Norris resided in Florida virtually all his life, and since his retirement he has enjoyed living near beloved friends and relatives in Coleman, Wildwood, Oxford, and Lady Lake. He attended First Baptist Church of Wildwood as his health permitted.

His hobbies and interests included becoming a licensed pilot and a certified swimming and lifesaving instructor. He was a music lover – especially of Big Bands – and he spent much time in genealogical research. He was proud to have discovered ancestors like Boling Hall Dudley, who served in the American Civil War, and John Dudley, who was once imprisoned briefly at Castillo De San Marcos in St. Augustine, Florida, due to a land dispute during Spanish rule. Norris's ancestors immigrated from England prior to the American Revolutionary War, in which they participated on the side of the colonists.

Norris is survived by two daughters, Delia Dudley Stewart and Sarah Dudley Dehart, as well as four grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and stepdaughters Karen Micklash and Lisa Still.

The family plans a private graveside service at the Pine Level Cemetery, Oxford, at 11 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, friends and loved ones are encouraged to give to a favorite church or charity in memory of Norris.
