Patricia “Patty” Daly O’Brien, age 71, of Hilton Head, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025.
Born on July 29, 1951, in Passaic, New Jersey, to John and Patricia Daly, Patty lived a life full ofcreativity, generosity, and love. She graduated from Daemen University and the Maryland Institute College of Art before embarking on a diverse and fulfilling career as a flight attendant for Trans World Airlines (TWA), a travel agent, a realtor, and an art teacher.
During her time with TWA, Patty led a flight crew on the New York to Paris route and developed a lifelong love for French culture and cuisine. A gifted watercolor artist, she shared her passion for art with everyone she met, taking special pride in her time teaching underprivileged children.
Patty was known for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering generosity. She could always be counted on to help a friend in need or offer an unexpected, but well-considered gift. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, she cherished her family and showered them with unconditional love. No matter what challenges she faced, Patty was always more concerned with how she could brighten the lives of others.
The second of nine siblings in a close-knit Irish Catholic family, Patty treasured her roots and the deep bond she shared with her brothers and sisters. The Daly Clan was renowned for its family vacations and joyful Christmas celebrations, and Patty never missed an opportunity—no matter the distance—to spend time with those she loved.
Patty shared a special bond with her grandchildren, Madison and Michael, whom she adored. She loved cheering them on, celebrating their milestones, and reminding them just how proud she was of them. Patty is survived by her children, Patrick and Meghan, and Patrick’s wife, Kristen; her grandchildren, Madison and Michael; and her siblings, Eileen Howard, Father Kevin Daly, Mary Ann Cavino, Debbie Daly, and Rosemary Russo. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Patricia Daly; her siblings, Kathleen, Matthew, Timothy, and Sean Daly; and her former husband, Peter O’Brien.
A funeral Mass will be held on October 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Butler, New Jersey, with burial to follow. A visitation and greeting with the family will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.
