PEKIN ~ Patricia J. "Patty" Olt, 69, of Pekin, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at home with her family by her side.
She was born August 20, 1946, in Pekin to Leonard and Olive (Pollock) Olt. Patty was preceded in death by her father and her grandson Josh Olt.
Surviving are her mother of Pekin; her daughter, Nari Olt, of Pekin; her son, Blake (Dr. Tami) Olt of Dunlap; three sisters Linda Lofgren, Jeanne (Keith) Harris, both of Pekin; and Tammy (Olaf) Klutke of Long Grove IL; three grandchildren, Jake Callahan, Brittany Olt and Zach Olt; six nieces and nephews, Taylor Klutke, Max Klutke, Shelli (Greg) Balzell , Regan Shute, Dae (Mark) Cunningham and Sam Harris and many grandnieces, and grandnephews to whom she loved to give big, fat uglies.
Patty graduated from Pekin Community High School and the Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis, MN. She was a lab technician at Pekin Hospital for 35 years before retiring in 2002. She likely knew every single person who worked at the hospital during that time. Patty was an amazing baker, making cookies, candies, and cakes in her spare time. She could be quite cantankerous but was so generous she would give you the shirt off her back.
She doted on her grandkids and her sisters' kids and grandkids. She always had an open door for them as well as their friends. Patty will be dearly missed but will always be remembered for her huge heart and her famous eyeroll.
Please join the family to celebrate Patty’s life from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Pekin Moose Family Center, 2605 Broadway in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
