Pat was born April 24, 1942, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Corbett Gooch and Mary (Taylor) Gooch. She passed away peacefully on March 18th, 2024.
She grew up in Borger, Texas. On November 16, 1959, in Nowata, Oklahoma she married her best friend and the love of her life, James “Jim” Parrett. This year they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Primarily, Pat was a homemaker and stay at home mom, raising her four children. Periodically, she worked outside of the home working at the Nowata Sewing Company and later Nowata Floral. When the kids were younger, it was not unusual to see Pat and her family attending a rodeo or watching a pony pull. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling the country and attending craft fairs with Jim, where they sold handmade crafts. Pat had a special place in her heart for her family including her dog, Traveler. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Pat Parrett was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Parrett; her parents, one daughter, Tammy Collier; one granddaughter, Shawna Kay Parrett; one niece, Vickie (Parrett) Casey; Survivors include three children, Tim Parrett and wife Carol of Nowata, OK, Steve Parrett of Nowata, OK, and Robin (Parrett) Briggs and husband Richard of Nowata, OK, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
