It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia "Patty" Lynn Simmermon, who left this world on August 10, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on August 13, 1968, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Patty was an extraordinary woman whose life was marked by love laughter, and a fiercely caring spirit.
Patty dedicated her career to collections, where her hard work and determination earned her multiple awards that spoke volumes of her commitment and skill. Beyond the accolades, it was her compassionate nature and willingness to help anyone in need that truly set her apart. She was known for her bright personality, always outspoken yet endlessly giving, and her ability to make friends everywhere she went; there was truly nothing to not like about her.
Family was at the heart of Patty's life. She was the beloved wife of Neal for 27 wonderful years. Together, they shared many cherished moments, often found enjoying concerts filled with 80s rock and 90s country music—the soundtracks of their lives. Patty had a special love for old movies and found her greatest joy at home, surrounded by those she loved the most. The couple often delighted in playing the slot machines together, a pastime that brought them closer and added to their shared memories.
Patty’s adventurous spirit took her to magnificent places, including memorable visits to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. Among her treasured memories was a helicopter ride over the breathtaking Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam, experiences that were as beautiful as her zest for life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Neal; her son, Derek Hall; her brothers, David (Sandy) Ferrell and Jim Ferrell; her sisters, Mary (Sam) Wymer and Karen (Chuck) Lemley; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Rhea (Wilson) Ferrell, and her sister, Londa Carpenter. Their love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable person she became, a reflection of the values they instilled in her.
A visitation will take place on August 19, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM. A graveside service will then be held at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W Broad St, Galloway, OH 43119, starting at 2:30 PM.
Patty’s loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the memories she created and the lives she touched.
