Patricia Katherine Peal

Patricia Katherine Orr DeWitt Peal, 89, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she graduated from Garden Grove High School in Garden Grove, CA in 1953 and attended UCLA for two years, where she was also a swim coach. She and her first husband Ray married in 1953 and moved to Jonesboro, AR in 1977 for teaching positions with the Jonesboro Public School System.

After the death of her first husband in 1983, she continued to teach until 1990 when she retired to travel. She was even in Russia when the Berlin wall came down. She met her second husband during her travels, and they married in 1995 and moved to Fairfield Glade, TN. They continued their travels together until he passed in 2017. She then moved to Chickamauga, GA to be closer to her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond L. DeWitt; second husband, Clayton E. Peal; and her parents, Charles Edward and Emma Lee Muse Orr;

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Paul) Connelly of Ringgold, GA; son, Mike (Kristie) DeWitt of Jonesboro, AR, and son, Wayne (Melissa) Peal of Livonia, MI ; six grandchildren, R.K. DeWitt of Jonesboro, AR, Shelby Connelly of Nashville, TN , Emma (Kyle) Reece of Augusta, GA, Matthew Peal of Redford, MI , Trevor (Anna) Connelly of Rock Island, TN, and Nicole Simpson of Bono, AR; and two great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 13th at 2pm at the Villages of Chickamauga, in Chickamauga, GA.
