It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Phillips, who was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and Granny. She passed away peacefully on July 27th, 2024, at the Flo & Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro where she was surrounded by her loved ones. Pat was born on May 26, 1940, in Tennessee to the late Cleveland and Edith Kimberlin. She grew up in Joiner, Arkansas where she graduated from Shawnee High School in 1958. She married Bill Phillips on May 15, 1960, and they made their home in Paragould with their two sons, Stan and Jeff Phillips.
Pat was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church where she volunteered in the nursery for over 30 years. Additionally, she started her own day care center, Weefolk, and ran that business for six years. She was a true caregiver at heart who blessed the lives of many children in Paragould. Her hobbies were all family oriented and she never wanted it any other way. She attended countless sporting events, never missing a chance to support her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Granny had a natural ability in the kitchen and the family always looked forward to her delicious Italian creme cake, Thanksgiving dressing, and fabulous pie crusts. Everyone was always amazed at how she could prepare so much food and make it seem effortless. Until the very end, she was always up for a competitive card game of Liverpool Rummy and loved to win!
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland and Edith Kimberlin; her sister, Edith "Kitty"; and brothers, Earl, Arnold, Orville, Elmer & Lowell. She leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Bill Phillips; sons, Stan Phillips (Carol) and Jeff Phillips (Michelle), both of Paragould; grandchildren, Micah Phillips (Jessica), Arlington, TX, Christy Harris (Ryan), Paragould, Cameron Phillips, Paragould, Anna Phillips, Richardson, TX, and Claire Phillips, Little Rock; great grandchildren, Marcus Grey Phillips, Kadence Lenderman, Kyler Lenderman, and Korbin Phillips; sister, Nancy Jenkins (Doug), Dickson, TN; brother, Kenneth; and niece, Pam Gateley (Steve), Memphis, TN; and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 12:30-2 PM at First United Methodist Church in Paragould. The funeral will begin at 2 PM with Revs. Dane Womack and Sarah Ellzey officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kadence Lenderman, Kyler Lenderman, Korbin Phillips, and Micah Phillips. In honor of Pat, please send memorials to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 404 W.
