Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Niles on Dec. 8, 2025.
Patricia Ann Phillips, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, completed her earthly journey on December 5, 2025, in the comforting embrace of her family at the age of 80. Patricia's journey through life was marked by her kind and gentle spirit, and love for her family and pets.
Patricia was born to the late Otto and Dorothy Schneck on August 20, 1945. Her parents instilled the importance of family throughout her life. She was very close to both of them and cherished being their caregiver in their time of need and never felt it was an obligation, but an honor.
Patricia always needed to stay busy. She worked many different occupations in her lifetime including factory work, J.C. Penny's, Rural King, and a homemaker. When she wasn't working, you would find her mowing the yard, raking leaves, or working in her gardens. She always found room for flowers in and out of her house. She also loved to decorate for every season, but especially for Christmas.
She cherished many of the simple pleasures of life. She experienced profound joy in the company of her beloved dog, Maggie, who was her faithful companion for over thirteen years. Patricia enjoyed watching her grandchildren in sports, parades, band concerts, church events, and theater performances. She liked watching every football game on Saturday and Sunday, but would always call her daughters to see what channel the Michigan Wolverines were on. She enjoyed getting her nails done, shopping, and going out to eat.
Patricia moved to West Woods Nursing facility during the month of July, 2025. She was blessed with a dear roommate, Maxine Mitchell, who adopted her as a second daughter. Patricia loved being at West Woods. The staff loved her so much and always looked after her. Patricia enjoyed just hanging out in her room or going with Maxine to bingo, the cafeteria, Halloween parties, crafts, church, or any other activity. Her family is so grateful that Patricia was surrounded by such loving and caring people during her last months of life.
Patricia's family was her greatest treasure in life. She adored and cherished her two daughters, Barbara (Rick) Erickson, and Deborah (Shannon) Williams. She instilled in them the same values of family, kindness, and possessing a gentle spirit. Her legacy will continue through her loving grandchildren, Ashley Erickson, Kayce Erickson and Ryan Lutin, Thomas and Cari-Anne Erickson, Zach and Sarah Williams, Bryce and Hana Williams; and her great grandchildren, Ryan Erickson, Kenzie Erickson, Hailey Erickson, Landen Erickson, Breyden Lutin, and Leo Erickson. She also leaves a loving sister, Sandy Schuyler, to cherish her memory and several special nieces and nephews, Shelley Klug and Stephen Schuyler, and many special cousins. She was preceded in death by the father of her children and husband of 30 years, Vern Phillips Jr.; father-in-law, Vern Phillips Sr.; and brother-in-law, Steve Schuyler.
A visitation for Patricia will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, on Friday, December 12th, at Brown Funeral Home
