Patricia Ann (Cotter) Powers, a longtime resident of Newfane, Vermont died Thursday, March 12, 2026 at her home in Vermont surrounded by her loving family at the age of 72. Patricia was born February 22, 1954 in Boston, Massachusetts. one of the five children of William Leo and Eleanor Patricia (Ross) Cotter. She graduated from Norwood High School with the Class of 1973. Patricia worked at Polaroid after High School, where she met her loving husband. She then moved on to Boston Envelope, and spent the remainder of her career cleaning houses so she could spend more time with her children. She worked as a bus monitor in her later years, always happy to be around little ones. Patricia loved being outdoors, whether it was taking a walk, riding her bike, going to the beach, gardening, or going camping. She resided in Mansfield until 1998, and spent the remainder of her life in Vermont. She quickly fell in love with the simple lifestyle there. Patricia had a strong Christian faith, and always looked at the bright side of life. She was sweet, caring, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She always volunteered to help others, and was very involved in the church. Patricia is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert J. "Bobby" Powers, and her two daughters, Shannon McCarty of Mansfield, and Lyn Falconer, and her husband Dave, of Douglas. She was the proud grandmother of Kellen McCarty and Mason Falconer. and the dear sister of William L. Cotter Jr., and his wife Eleanor, of Peabody, Tina Moran, and her husband Jimmy, of Stoughton, and Debra Blanchard, and her husband David, of Littleton, Colorado. Patricia was the sister of the late Alan C. Cotter, and the stepdaughter of the late Dorothy Olive (Wambolt) Cotter. Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 20th from 5 to 8 pm at the Folsom and May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols Street, Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Saturday, March 21st at 10 am at the funeral home followed by interment in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
