Patricia Marie Richter (née Ross) passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, at the age of 84, at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 14, 1941, at Chicago Lutheran Deaconess Hospital (now Lutheran General) in Park Ridge, Illinois, Pat brought love into the world on Valentine’s Day—a fitting start for someone who spent her life giving so much to others.
Pat was the beloved daughter of the late William and Kate (Ferroli) Ross, sister of Tom (JoAnne) Ross and the devoted wife of Russ Richter, who survives her. She was the cherished mother of David (Elizabeth) Richter, Jim (Marianne) Richter, and Jennifer (Greg) Mark, and the grandmother of Rob Richter, Bo Richter, Reagan Richter, Val Richter, Reese Richter, Kennedy Mark, and Delanie Mark. Her family was her pride, her joy, and her favorite topic of conversation.
Pat graduated from Immaculata High School and Wright Junior College in Chicago before embarking on a professional career with Bally Midway and Rand McNally, where she worked as a licensing specialist. If anyone needs a Pac-Man towel or T-shirt, she still has a few tucked away in her closet. And if you have trouble finding her house, she can also send you a Rand McNally Atlas to help you find your way!
For more than six decades, Pat was a devoted parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, where she found deep purpose and community. She served passionately in the church’s Bridge ministry, where she worked tirelessly to raise single moms out of poverty. Embodying compassion and resilience, Pat was staunchly pro-life, rooted in her unwavering faith. And for reasons only known to her, she voted Democrat her entire life!
One of Pat’s greatest joys was spending her summers with her family on Lake Delavan in southern Wisconsin. Those sunny days on the lake, surrounded by loved ones, were among her most treasured memories.
Pat’s life was defined by grace, loyalty, and an unshakeable love for her family. She will be remembered for her generosity, her compassion, and her gentle care for anyone who needed a helping hand.
A visitation will be held at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake Street in Addison on Thursday, June 19th with visitation from 4:00 to 7:30 and a short memorial service from 7:30 to 8:00PM. All who knew and loved Pat are welcome to attend and honor her remarkable life.
