Ahlgrim Family Funeral Services - Lake Zurich LocationMemorial Visitation for Jacqueline M. Longeway, 81, of Kildeer, will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m., on March 28, 2026, at St. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. The Interment will be private.
Jacqueline was born on August 12, 1944, to Frederick and Norine Marski. She passed away on March 5, 2026. She was raised on the North Side of Chicago and attended St. Alphonsus Elementary and Immaculata High School. She later attended Loyola University and the Art Institute. In addition to her studies, Jacquie pursued interests in theater dance and art.
Jacqueline later became a business owner and operator. As the Buyer for Classic Sunglasses, Jacquie traveled the world to supply the business with inventory. During her tenure, she purchased more than one million sunglasses to be sold in stores throughout the Midwest.
In addition, Jacqueline owned and operated several retail stores in Long Grove, Illinois. She became a leader within the Long Grove community. Jacqueline curated unique spaces that reflected her warmth and her keen eye for charm. Her shops became staples of the downtown district and a testament to her creative spirit.
Beyond her own storefronts, Jacquie’s leadership was instrumental in shaping the identity of the Village she loved. She served as the President and Events Committee Chairman for the Long Grove Merchants Association and was a driving force behind some the community’s most cherished traditions. She played a vital role in establishing and growing signature events like the Long Grove Chocolate Festival and the Strawberry Festival, transforming the village into a premier destination for families and visitors across the region. Her tireless work ensured that the historic character and atmosphere of Long Grove were preserved for future generations to enjoy.
Jacqueline was the beloved wife of Thomas Longeway for sixty-one years; cherished mother of Jeanine Longeway (John Idzik) and Christopher (Karin) Longeway; loving grandmother of Benjamin Longeway; and dear sister of James Marksi.
