Spencer Kirk Koch

Spencer Kirk Koch, age 86, of Lake Zurich, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. He was the devoted husband of the late Lillian Marie Koch (née Mantey) for 59 years. Spencer was the loving father of Kim (Phillip) Krug and Patti (Walter) Huellen; a cherished grandfather to Wes (Kelly) Krug, Courtney (Tyler) Bostedt, Brittany Huellen (Stephen), Ryan Huellen (Haylee), and Kailyn Huellen; and a proud great-grandfather to Colton Bostedt. He was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Mailfald.

A dedicated professional, Spencer retired as the Farmstand Manager at Jewel Food Stores where he provided 40 years of service.

In his spare time, Spencer poured his energy into his many passions: meticulously detailing his HO scale train layout and keeping his '66 Mustang convertible in peak condition. A soft spot for nature often found him rescuing wild squirrels and pigeons, while his creative eye paired with his woodworking skills was constantly at work refining the fine details of his home.

Spencer was a friend to many due to his outgoing personality. He was always quick-witted and loved making people laugh with a joke. If you couldn't locate him, he could easily be found with a remote control in his hand watching his favorite western with a bowl of popcorn.
