Patricia J. Samuels

Patricia Jean Samuels, 79, of Lower Burrell, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, in her home. She was born in Youngstown, OH, on Oct. 17, 1945, to the late William J. and Dorothy E. Schell McDonald. She had been a resident of Lower Burrell since 1977, having previously resided in Vandergrift, and growing up in Youngstown. Mrs. Samuels was a member of Cadogan Union Church and had worked as a teacher for Hempfield School District, Greater Works Academy, and Evangel Heights Christian School. She was also active with the Salvation Army Program in East Liberty and Heaven's Family Missionary Work, where she went on mission trips to Africa, Asia, and Central and South America. She was very creative and enjoyed crafts, poetry, and journaling. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard A. Samuels; six children, William Richard (Joanna) Samuels of Pittsburgh, Poppy Helen (Jamie) Mayson Ducary of Downingtown, PA, Benjamin Carl (Lori) Samuels of Lower Burrell, Rebecca Jocelyn Wilson of Jeannette, Joshua David (April) Samuels of Germantown, TN, and Rachel Willis of Marysville, OH; 17 grandchildren; and sister, Jacci McDonald of Chelan, WA. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road, at Alder St., where funeral services will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
