Patricia Schell Obituary

Patricia G Schell, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully from this life on March 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, fierce love, and Christlike service.

Patricia was born on July 10, 1942, in Miami, Florida to Jackson M. Floyd and Josephine Hall. She was the oldest of five children: Jon, Greg, Robbie, and her sister Mary Jo, who passed away shortly after birth.

At the age of 17, Patricia joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, embracing the gospel of Jesus Christ with her whole heart. On a sacred day in 1969, she married Douglas W. Schell in the Salt Lake Temple. Their marriage was founded on faith and together they built a beautiful eternal family. Douglas preceded her in passing in June of 2022.

Patricia and Douglas were blessed with six children: Greg (Jane), Rebekah (Dave) Boden, Nathan (Amy), Sam, Tom (Jane), and Rachael (Ivan) Dixon. Her posterity grew to include 27 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward her legacy of faith and love.

Throughout her life, Patricia exemplified what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ. She served as a full-time missionary four times, dedicating herself to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ she cherished so deeply. Her life was marked by unconditional love, quiet sacrifice, steadfast strength, and unwavering testimony. She was an example, an influence, and a blessing to all who knew her, young and old.

Above all, Patricia was a devoted mother who loved her family fiercely and taught them to love one another just as fiercely. Her home was a place of faith, laughter, and belonging. Though she will be profoundly missed here, we find comfort in imagining the glorious reunion she is now experiencing with loved ones who have gone before her—and most especially with her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Her life was a testament to enduring faith, devoted service, and eternal family bonds. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 121 Golf Course Rd, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
