Patricia Shatto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Downs Funeral Home - Superior on Nov. 4, 2025.
Patricia "Patty" Louise Shatto, 85, of Duluth, MN died Friday, October 31, 2025, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living, surrounded by family.

Patty was born in Duluth on May 12, 1940, the daughter of Barney and Audrey Petersen. She married Stanly Shatto on August 2, 1986.

She worked at Walgreen Drug, Schader Drug, owned her own consignment/craft shop, and at 56 she went back to school to become a CNA. She went on to care for the homebound and elderly until her retirement.

Patty loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her family and friends. She enjoyed camping, crafting, rummage sales, and her many pets.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; her parents, Barney and Audrey; sister, Betty Gayle Carlson; and Shelly and Greg's father, Philip Cobb.

Patty will be dearly missed by her daughter, Shelly (Bill Harvey) Thompson; son, Greg (Amy) Cobb; step children, Jeff (Alvina) Shatto, Diane (Dave) Conner, and Janet (Dave) Johnson; grandchildren, Megan Ruffi, and Ty and Mindi Cobb; great grandsons, Jayden and Rockford; her sister, Vickie Sue (Buzz) DeLaRosby; and many nieces and nephews.

She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts. As we say goodbye, we celebrate her life by cherishing the memories we shared and continuing to honor her through our actions and love for one another.

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday November 12th at 2:00 p.m. at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St., Superior.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Diamond Willow, especially Vanna (you could always put a smile on her face) and the Aspirus Hospice staff for the love and compassion you showed our mother.
