"For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." (II Timothy 4: 6-8)

Ms. Patricia "Trish" Smith was born April 16, 1949, in Meansville, Georgia, to the parentage of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert (Emily) Colquitt. Trish is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Jennifer Ann Johnson, Ida Mays, David Colquitt, Robert Colquitt and Reginald Colquitt.

Trish was educated in the Pike County Schools System and graduated in 1967. She was employed with Pike County Schools System for many years; she was a faithful employee and was very professional in the service she provided. Trish was a reliable employee who was always willing to go above and beyond advocating for the well-being of the students and staff.

Trish never had children of her own, however, she was the mother of many "Woman, be happy! You have not had any children, but you should be very happy. "Yes, the woman who is alone will have more children than the woman with a husband" (Isaiah 54:1-17). Trish was not afraid of taking on the responsibility of parenting. Trish knew that what she had given would come back to her. She loved all her family, but she had placed her trust in and relied on the support from her special niece, Ashley Reid, to oversee her important issue and assist her with her personal and medical needs. Ashley was the true bonus daughter in the words of Trish, "Ashley is over me".

Trish leaves to cherish her memory, (Children) sisters and brothers: Jeannette (Walter) Colquitt, Steve Smith, Emily Colquitt, Gilbert "Billy" Colquitt Jr. and Nathaniel Colquitt.

(Children) Nieces/Nephews: Darrell Smith, Gwendolyn Mays, Hiran Mays, Marickis (Missy) Colquitt, Antoine Colquitt, Cynthia Colquitt, Ashley Reid, and Nichole Folds.

Great-Great Nieces/Nephews: Kinslee Banks, Jordan Banks, Journi Mays, Mark Fordham, Trentin Fordham, Mason Fordham, Naomi Fordham and Lynix Fordham. Sister-In-Law: Darlene Colquitt Aunts: Hattie Kate Colquitt, Linda Jordan, and Teresa (Henry) Jones.

Extended Siblings: Melvin Colquitt, William Colquitt, Mary Helen Colquitt, Thomas Colquitt Jr., Elder Mary Neal, Elder Mia McGee, and Martha "Mot" Colquitt Special Friends: Mrs. Shirley Flemister & Children, Diane Weston, Marion Britt, Mrs. Barbara Alexander, and Leon Walker. Also, the entire community of Meansville, Georgia.

Time and chance happen to them all. For man does not know his time (Eccl. 9:11-12).

Trish, unexpectantly departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on October 9, 2025 at Spalding WellStar in Griffin, Ga. As family sat at the bedside, the angel of the Lord whispered, and no one heard but Trish. She answered the call with no fear "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou are with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort.
