Patricia Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel - Bowling Green on Dec. 4, 2025.
With profound love and deep sorrow, we celebrate the life of Patricia Sue Smith, a devoted wife, mother, sister, and most proudly Nana. Patty left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Hospice of Southern Kentucky on December 3, 2025 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Eddie, a loving mother to her two sons and grandchildren. She was the matriarch of her family and left a legacy of faith, loyalty, and a focus on the importance of family. Patty worked as the executive secretary for Citizens First Bank and worked as a former secretary in the registrar's office at Western Kentucky University.
Patty is survived by her husband of 55 years Eddie Smith of Bowling Green, their son Chris Smith and his wife Penny. Three grandchildren; Skylar Smith Martin and her husband Zach, Kaylee Smith and her fiance Cole McCallum, Gavin Smith, Kendall Smith and Josh Merrick, and Madison Crousore and her husband Shain. Her great-grandchildren; Colter Martin, Granger Crousore, and Oaklee Crousore, as well as her dear friends Shirlene Meisel, Dianne Wade, and Layne Johnson also survive.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Patty's care givers Maureen Wilk, Shannon Maglinger, and the incredible staff at the Hospice House for their wonderful care and compassion.
Patty was born on May 18, 1951 to the late Floyd and Eunice McReynolds. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Chad A. Smith, and her sister Debbie McReynolds, both of Bowling Green, Kentucky, as well as her in-laws Ed Smith (Mary Woodrow) & Margaret Smith.
Patty lived her life with passion, purpose, and a fierce pride in the family. She cherished above all else. Her heart belonged wholly to those she loved, and she poured herself into them every day of her life.
Patty was a passionate wife and mother but being Nana is where she found her greatest joy. Her grandchildren were her world, and she showed it through endless patience, warmth, and love. Her kindness was both contagious and pure, touching every person blessed enough to know her.
She was hard-working, dedicated, and unwaveringly selfless. Patty placed her family at the center of her life. She gave without hesitation, loved without limits and supported without condition. Her gentle spirit, giving nature and steady strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will forever be remembered as a selfless soul, a woman whose love shaped her family, and whose legacy of kindness and generosity will forever be in our hearts.
Visitation will be from one until 5 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2025 and from 9 a.m. until 12 noon on Monday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Bowling Green Gardens.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky or Shriners Children's Hospital Lexington.
