Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel - Grove CityThe LONG GOODBYE came peacefully for Patricia Ann (Davis) Spriggs on her 78th birthday, November 20th, 2025 at Mt. Carmel Grove City in hospice care. Patricia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Left to cherish her memory is Steve, Pat's devoted husband and high school sweetheart of 64 years; loving sons, Ryan (Shelby) and Aaron (Nicki); two adored grandchildren, Kayla and Camron; nieces, Sara Roberts, Morgan and Ali Sheets; nephews, Chad, Kevin, and Aiden Davis. Pat was preceded in death by father, Waldo Davis and mother, Ann Davis Harbarger; brother, Michael Davis; and step-father, Wayne B. Harbarger, Sr.
Pat was born Nov. 20th, 1947 in Chillicothe, OH and lived her childhood in Jackson, OH and graduated in 1965 from Jackson High School. She went on to secretarial school at Miami-Jacobs Business College in Dayton, OH. After graduation, she became the first woman to be hired at the newly opened Goodyear Aerospace Manufacturing facility in Jackson. Pat patiently waited for her then fiance, Steve to finish his military stint and college before they walked down the aisle in 1971 and moved to Columbus, OH. Steve and Pat's sons were born in 1973 and 1975, and Pat became a stay at home mom until the youngest started school. She then started back working as a part time secretary for MRDD in Columbus. She then took a full time executive secretarial position with SWCS where they had bought a home in Grove City. After 10 years with SWCS, Pat was offered a legal secretarial job for two attorneys at Bricker and Eckler law firm. She spent 17 years there and retired in 2012 when she developed symptoms of Alzheimer's dementia. Pat's husband retired at the same time to keep her safe through her LONG GOODBYE journey.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff on the 4th and 7th floors for their wonderful and loving care they extended to Pat.
