March 1, 1940 – December 28, 2024
Patricia Louise Turner, 84, of Canton, GA, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, surrounded by the warmth of her beloved family.
Born on March 1, 1940, to John William Swick and Elsie McElroy Swick, Patricia led an extraordinary life enriched with love, creativity, and adventure. She was a talented artist and painter, capturing the beauty she saw in the world. Patricia's passion for exploration took her across 70 countries and 35 cruises, filling her life with cherished memories and stories that she eagerly shared with her loved ones.
Patricia's love for her family was boundless. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her happiest moments were spent in the company of those she adored. Her 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren brought her immense joy and pride, each a testament to the enduring love she nurtured throughout her life.
She was a lifelong learner and teacher, inspiring others through her knowledge, kindness, and unshakable faith. Patricia was an avid reader and a cherished member of her book club, where she formed lasting friendships. She found beauty in even the smallest wonders, collecting rocks as mementos of nature's artistry.
Patricia is survived by her devoted husband of many years, John William Turner of Canton, GA; her loving children: Douglas Gates (Leanna) of Park City, Utah, William Turner (Kimberly) of Cary, NC, James Turner (Michelle) of Shadow Hills, CA, Debra Hilbert of Placerville, CA, and Darby Bewley (Geoff) of Woodstock, GA; her brother, Bob Swick of Arcata, CA; and sisters, Shirley Pearce of Reno, NV, and Carol Swick of Burnt Ranch, CA. Her legacy lives on in her cherished grandchildren: Candace Alexandres, Chase Hilbert, Lauren Novitski, Brenna Gates, Chandler Gates, Taylor Gates, Jordan Gates, McKenna Bewley, Wyatt Bewley, Christian Evenson, Madison Matthews, Ashley Turner, Megan Turner, Alixzandria Woodard, Joshua Turner, and Benjamin Turner, as well as her seven great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Timothy Lutheran Church, 556 Arnold Mill Rd, Woodstock, GA 30188, officiated by Reverend Daniel Brammier.
Patricia's vibrant spirit, artistic soul, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of beauty, faith, and adventure that will continue to inspire those she touched.
