Patricia R. Thies, 50, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at her home in Vernon Hills, IL. She was born May 13, 1975 in Park Ridge, IL and had been a longtime resident of Vernon Hills. Patricia attended St. John Lutheran School in her grade school years, was a lifelong member of the church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a 1993 graduate of Shoreland Lutheran High School in Somers, WI and attended Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee. Patricia was a beloved school bus driver and loved all the children throughout the years. She enjoyed crafting and singing and performed the National Anthem at many events, including Relay for Life.

Surviving are her parents, James & Jeanne Thies; 4 siblings, Kristine (Ed) Grasse, James E. Thies, Megan (the late Rod) Wittig & Jeffrey (Alicia) Thies; 6 nieces & nephews, Robert & Alexis Grasse, Kaitlyn & Lauryn Wittig and Michael & Matthew Thies and many loving uncles, aunts & cousins.

A special thank you to Advocate Hospice, especially Sybil & Lauren for their supreme compassion and care during a difficult time.

A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church, 501 W. Park Ave. in Libertyville.
