Patricia L Thompson, age 83, of Mill Pond Drive, Lake Placid and formerly of Saranac Lake, died on Friday October 18, 2024 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Malone, New York on April 19, 1941, she was the daughter of Watson and Sadie (King) Boyea. Pat married Joseph Thompson October 31, 1970 in Saranac Lake. He predeceased her on August 12, 2010. Pat grew up in Owls Head, New York and attended and graduated from the Malone High School. She later lived in Saranac Lake and eventually with her daughter in Lake Placid for many years. Pat worked at the Wards and Aryes Insurance Agencies in Saranac Lake for many years. She later worked at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid until her retirement. Pat was very active member and volunteer at the Saranac Lake Adult Center, member and past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, member and past reagent of the Catholic Daughters of America Court 787 St. Bernard and the McDonalds morning breakfast club. She enjoyed bingo, craft fairs, scrapbooking, reading, garage saleing and volunteering anywhere she could to help. She also enjoyed pinochle games and car ride adventures. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons Joseph Thompson II, of Tupper Lake and Jon Thompson of Mineville, one daughter Heidi (Leo Jr.)Jewtraw of Lake Placid, one brother Michael (Cheryl) Boyea of Owls Head, two sisters Margaret “Peggy” (Tom) Callaghan of Tupper Lake and Dolores Boyea of Owls Head. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren Mikal (Stephanie) Thompson, Kellson Thompson, Katelynn (Logan) Wood, Takara (Adam) Windrel, Cierra (Austin) Dukette, Stephnie Belflower, Dominic Thompson, Sadie Thompson, Niklus Thompson and Amria Thompson-Trombley, 10 great grandchildren, Matthew, Zoey, Wrenley, Kane, Kaydance, Karma, Aaron, Gunner, Annabel and Alice and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by one grandson Matthew and one brother Watson “Butch” Boyea.
Calling hours are set to take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Monday October 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12:00 Noon at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake with the Rev. Martin Cline officiating. Burial will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone on Tuesday.
