Patricia E. Torkos, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of strength, and quiet grace. She was 76.
Born on February 28, 1949, Patricia lived a life marked by generosity, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She approached every chapter of life with open arms and a warm heart - always ready to lend a hand, share a laugh, or listen without judgment.
Patricia was born in Passaic, New Jersey to Peter and Mary Kumka. Once older she settled in Clifton where she resided until her passing. She was a dedicated Penguin Putnam employee for many years, retiring in 2015.
Patricia was a woman of deep values and simple joys. She loved a good polka dance, her dog, Misha, and spending time with friends. She was a longtime member of the Athenia Veteran's Post in Clifton, where she participated in many parades and worked countless events. Patricia, lovingly know as Patty or Pat, was a staple in her neighborhood.
She is survived by dear many friends whom she regarded as family and extended family, each of whom carry forward the kindness and strength she modeled every day. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Peter and Mary (Gunza) Kumka, as well as friend, Christine Szwed.
Visiting Wednesday, May 21, 3 – 7 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Thursday, May 22, 8:45 AM at the funeral home and 10 AM at St. John Kanty R.C. Church, 49 Speer Ave, Clifton. Interment will be private.
