Patricia H Wysocky (Hanratty) ObituaryPatricia Leone Hanratty Wysocky was born in St. Paul, MN on March 30, 1923, the oldest daughter of Joseph Anthony Hanratty and Leone Margaret Gardner Hanratty. Pat graduated from St. Paul Central High School and in 1942 became a volunteer Red Cross Blood Mobile driver and chair of their Bicycle Brigade. In April 1943 she joined the US Marine Corps Women's Reserve where she drove troop transport and supply trucks. She served until Oct. 1945 when she joined her husband, Robert John Wysocky, in Panama City, Panama. They returned to the States in 1949. Their daughter, Felicia Leone (Lisa) Wysocky, was born in Minneapolis. Later, they divorced.
Pat served on the Orono Park Board and was instrumental in obtaining Highwood Park for the city, and also in the development of bike lanes on the sides of the roads in the Westonka area. She also was president of the Mound (now Westonka) Parent Teacher Association. In the 1970s, the Westonka League of Voters awarded her the coveted Patty Wallace award for exceptional service. Pat also served two terms on the Mound School District School Board, and was executive director of the Armed Forces Servicemen's Center at the Minneapolis airport for 26 years, managing as many as 400 volunteers. Every year since it opened, Pat enjoyed having a box at Canterbury Park, and became an expert handicapper. And, since the 1960s, she avidly followed the ups and downs of Minnesota Twins baseball. For several decades, Pat lectured on horticulture: to garden clubs, at the University of Minnesota agricultural campus, and at the Minnesota Arboretum. She was also active in Minnesota rose, iris, and peony societies. Pat passed peacefully on August 16, 2025, and was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Pat is pre-deceased by her parents; her sister Jacqueline Ann Hanratty Bernard; her niece, Ann Rebecca Bernard; her grandson, Colby H. Keegan; her faithful dogs Mickey, Rosie, and Rocky; and her cats, Gizmo and Fred. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Wysocky.
