David Lawrence "Dave" Hempel ObituaryHempel, David L., age 83 of Chanhassen, passed away peacefully Sept. 2, 2025, with family by his side. He fought many aliments for many years. He was an airline pilot and flew for North Central, Republic and Northwest.
Dave was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle and friend.
He loved being with his family, hunting, boating and carpentry, adding a large addition to our home and remodeling in his spare time.
He was always there for his family fixing cars, plumbing, rides to school and attending all sporting events.
Loved his Lord and Savior and serviced his church wholeheartedly for 56 years.
Preceded in death by parents Warren and Margaret Hempel, brothers Jerry and Bob and sister Barbara.
Survived by wife Jill, daughter Heather Samdahl, son Shawn (Michelle) Hempel, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister Margie (Fred) Bills and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life with take place at 11 AM Saturday (9/27) at Minnewashta/Branch Church, 26710 W 62nd St, Shorewood, with visitation starting at 10 AM.
