Patricia “Patty Ann” Yeates, age 74, of Athens, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Patricia was born on June 7, 1950 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Clifford T. and Patricia (Brennan) Bryant, Sr.
She married Kenneth Yeates on May 5, 1983.
Mourning her passing are a son, Jeff Lynde of Athens, IL; a daughter, Kirsten (John) Koller of Athens, IL; a granddaughter, Rosalee Koller of Athens, IL; siblings, Clifford “Pete” (wife Kitsy) Bryant of Springfield, IL, Johnny (wife Sue) Bryant of Athens, IL, James “Jimmy” Bryant (companion Roxanne) of Cantrall, IL, Kelly (Steve) Berndt of Athens, IL, and Karen Reagon of Cantrall, IL; several nieces and nephews; and several unrelated extended family members who considered her as their grandma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Yeates; mother, Patrica “Pat” (Brennan) Buckley; father, Clifford Bryant; brother, Charles Bryant; and grandparents, Charles and Bernice Brennan and Lane and Mae Bryant.
Patty Ann was an avid bowler for more than 25 years. She loved playing bingo, going to the movies, Las Vegas and riding motorcycles (and was an ABATE member). Her biggest joy was being able to spend time with her family. Patty Ann was kind and caring and shared her love with everyone she came across. She always had a kind word to everyone, and hugs to go along with it.
Patty Ann worked at Memorial Hospital as a Surgical Assistant when she retired after 23 years of service. During her time at Memorial Hospital she also worked for ELA Security as a Security Officer. After retiring from the hospital, she felt like she still had time to give back and began working for Help at Home taking care of elderly and disabled people. She always said one of her favorite jobs she ever had was working at Mama Ducks Restaurant that her mom (Pat Buckley) owned.
Visitation for Patty Ann will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 1:00 until 4:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Cremation rites will be accorded after the visitation.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 5, 2025, when Patty Ann and Kenneth will be laid to rest on their wedding anniversary at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Menard County Patriots or the Animal Protective League (APL).
