In Loving Memory of Patrick Michael Beard "Cadillac" • "Patch" April 21, 1997 – June 10, 2025
Patrick Michael Beard, affectionately known as "Cadillac" or "Patch" by those who knew and loved him, passed away far too soon on June 10, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida, at the age of 28.
Born in Kennesaw, Georgia, Patrick was a free spirit with an adventurous soul and a heart as big as the sky. He lived life full throttle-whether he was snowboarding down a mountain, riding his motorcycle with the wind at his back, or climbing trees with skill and passion in his work. He loved fishing, boating, surfing, and anything that brought him closer to nature and the thrill of the outdoors.
Patrick is survived by his beloved fur-baby, Dozer, and his longtime love, Elizabeth Gionest, whom he proudly considered his wife. Together they shared a deep, unwavering love that stood the test of time. He also leaves behind his mother, Teresa "Lynn" Parker; his father, Michael Shaw; and his bonus mom, Laura Gionest. His Granny, Patricia A. Johnson, and his bonus grandmother, Cathy Beard, were constant sources of love and support.
He was a proud brother to Ryan Gerdes (Michelle Evans), Joshua Gerdes, and Jeffrey Beard, and a cherished bonus brother to Pauline and Grace Gionest. His love for family extended to his many aunts and uncles: Cheryl A. Beard-Bratcher (Sam), James Michael Beard (Nicki), Richard Lee Beard (Ashley), Patti J. Hight (Brian), and Thomas A. Mosier, Jr. (Jennifer), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and so many friends who felt like family.
Patrick was preceded in death by his bonus dad, Curtis D. Parker; his maternal great-grandparents (Perry and Elsie Johnson); his paternal great-grandparents (James Harley and Helen Beard); his grandfather, Gary M. Beard; his bonus grandmother, Beverley Parker; his great uncle James Johnson (Phyllis) and his uncle, Dennis Joe Beard, each of whom welcomed him home with open arms.
His presence was magnetic, his energy unforgettable, and his heart generous beyond measure. Patrick touched countless lives with his loyalty, humor, and that signature grin that always hinted he was up to something fun.
A family hosted Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced. If you would like to be notified when those plans are finalized, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/ythnw6XorMY7oQWZ7
Patrick's light will never dim in the hearts of those who loved him. His spirit will ride on-free, fearless, and forever unforgettable.
