Patrick August Boehmer

Patrick August Boehmer, 100, went to his heavenly home Friday, February 13, 2026 at Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Visitation will be on Friday, February 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m., also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Patrick August Boehmer was born March 17, 1925, to Nick and Martha (Nuebel) Boehmer in Parkston, South Dakota. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School through the eighth grade and went on to graduate from Parkston High School in 1943. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army from December 19, 1948, until being honorably discharged on January 31, 1950. On February 2, 1953, he was united in marriage to Lenora Hoff at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Together, they farmed west of Parkston, where they milked cows and raised chickens and hogs. Pat was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the American Legion, VFW, and the Knights of Columbus. He also gave many years of service to his community, serving on the Susquehanna Township Board for over 40 years. He worked as a school custodian for more than 20 years and drove bus for two years. He found great joy in cooking for those he loved and spending time in his garden.

Pat is survived by his 4 children: James (JoAnn) Boehmer of Parkston; Diane (Larry) Wermers of Rapid City, SD; Mark (Gina) Boehmer of Sherrard, IL; and Joel (special friend, Kimberly) Boehmer of Parkston; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mariella Boehmer; a brother, Norman Boehmer; a sister-in-law, Mary Boehmer; and a daughter-in-law, Sally Boehmer of Dimock;

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lenora; son, Dennis; grandchild, Jeremiah; great-grandchildren: Gabriel, James, and Thea; a brother, Norbert Boehmer; and sisters, JoAnn Omafray and Donna Mae Bodine.
