Patrick Matthew Boettger, born on June 17, 1987, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on July 14, 2025, in Matteson, Illinois. He was a remarkable individual known for his friendly demeanor and his ability to be the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter to those around him.
Educated at Lincoln Way Central High School, Patrick excelled in sports, playing both football and basketball, which laid the foundation for his lifelong love of athletics. Following his high school years, he served proudly in the United States Navy for over 19 years, an experience that further shaped his character and instilled a deep sense of commitment to fellow military veterans.
Patrick made significant contributions to his community through his career in security, working at Embassy Security in Mokena, Illinois. He also taught Conceal Carry classes. His dedication to educating others about safety and security reflects his desire to ensure that his community was well-prepared and protected.
He is survived by his loving family, including his father, Chuck Boettger; mother, Denise (Stephen) Worley; brother, Vincent (Melissa) Boettger; and his cherished niece and nephews, Vinny, Kylie, Justin, and Joey. Patrick also leaves behind his aunts and uncles, Stephanie (the late Joe) Annerino, Howard (Kris) Bodzianowski, and Kenneth (Christine) Bodzianowski, who will forever remember him fondly. Patrick also leaves behind his loved and cherished cousins; Jeff and Bruce DeBauche, Bill Bodzianowski, Kenny and Paige Bodzianowski, Kenny Bodzianowski Jr., and Chuckie Kirby OPPD.
Patrick was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Francis Szymakowski; his grandfathers, Walter John Boettger and Patrick Bodzianowski; his grandmothers, Mary Elizabeth Boettger and Gloria Bodzianowski; as well as his aunts and uncles, Donna (Mike) Tamberlin and Gator Bodzianowski, and William Bodzianowski. Their memories will be honored through the love shared among all who knew Patrick.
A visitation in memory of Patrick will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel located at 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, Illinois, on July 22, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Chapel service will be the following morning at the funeral home at 10:00am. Interment is private.
Patrick Matthew Boettger's spirit will continue to resonate with all whose lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by family, friends, and the community he served so diligently.
