Patrick J. Cothren

Patrick J Cothren was born on October 22, 1936 in Buchanan, NY. He passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024 at his home in Montrose, NY. Patrick was one of five siblings. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School in 1954 where he excelled at Football, Baseball and Basketball. He married the love of his life Joan T Flaherty on May 24, 1958 at St. Patrick's church, Verplanck NY where he was an active parishioner to date.He served in the US Air Force for four years. He was then a member of IBEW, Local 3 (501) International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 30 years working most of his career at Indian Point.Patrick was an avid golfer, who competed locally and on a professional level for many years. Upon his retirement from IBEW he worked as a Senior Pro at Garrison Country Club where he was a member for over 30 years.Patrick was pre-deceased by his loving wife Joan, his first born child Catherine Mary Cothren, and Grandson James Daniel Patrick Eagens.Pat is survived by his three children,Patrick J Cothren Jr. (Dina),Christine B Cothren and Amy M Pascale (Marty),six grandchildren, Sean P Cothren (Veronica),Kathleen M Cothren Holic (Matt),Thomas J Cothren (Leanna),Emily C Wozniak(Jeff),Donovan W Cothren and Corey M Cothren Seger, three great grandchildren, Anthony, Makayla and Claire Cothren and Several nieces and nephews. Reposing on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 3:00-7:00 PM at the O'Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM on Monday, May 20, 2024 at St. Patrick's Church, Verplanck, NY. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org/donatetoday.
