Obituary of Patrick M. Croke

Patrick Michael Croke, 65, of South Salem, NY, passed away on Thursday, September 25 th, 2025, at Northern Westchester Hospital after a brave and unwavering four-year battle with stage IV colon cancer.

Patrick was born on October 30 th, 1959, in Southampton, NY, the eldest of Jennie and Francis Croke's five children. He graduated from the New York Institute of Technology in 1982, where he studied architecture and met the love of his life, Marianne Boyle-Croke. The two married on April 27 th, 1985, and celebrated 40 years of marriage this year.

A gifted and dedicated architect, Patrick founded his own firm in 1987. Located in Bedford Village and later in Katonah, NY, he worked alongside his wife, a talented designer, to help their clients bring their dreams to reality. His work is a true reflection of his passion and brilliance. Patrick had an eye for detail, a sincere love for his craft, and unwavering commitment to excellence, still designing and submitting plans during his last week on earth.

Patrick approached life with quiet strength and dignity. Throughout his illness, he showed remarkable perseverance, meeting every challenge with courage and grace. He remained active, hopeful, living life to the fullest, never allowing cancer to define him.

Patrick was a proud member of Indian Harbor Yacht Club in Greenwich, CT, where he had been a member since 2006. He cherished his time on the water, the friendships he formed, and, most of all, the memories he shared there with his daughter Brigette. He was also a member of the Elks, embracing their mission of service and community support.

Patrick is survived by his beloved wife Marianne, their loving daughter Brigette Croke of Charleston, SC, her longtime partner Jay Greenfield, who Patrick embraced as part of the family, and his loyal sidekick, his dog, Ginger. He is also survived by his 96-year-old mother, Jennie Croke, and siblings Carolyn Vanston, Timothy Croke, Geoffrey Croke, and Kevin Croke, along with many nieces, nephews, and godchildren, whom he loved dearly.

A Memorial Vsitation will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd., Katonah, NY, on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 3 PM to 7 PM.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 7 Pound Ridge Rd., Bedford, NY 10506, on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 10 AM.

A reception will follow at Indian Harbor Yacht Club, 710 Steamboat Rd., Greenwich, CT 06830, from 12 PM to 3 PM.

Dear Marianne and Bridgett- The Volkweins are heart-broken that Patrick is no longer able to experience the joys of life. We will hang on to our memories of him as a person who did exactly that - enjoyed life. I served on the IHYC Board with him where he was always constructive, smart, happy, humorous, and considerate -- a model citizen that we will miss terribly.

Marianne, Brigette and little Ginger, it is with deep sorrow that I learned about Patrick's passing. At IHYC he was always friendly, respectful and very calm. My fellow co-workers and I shall miss him greatly.
