Obituary of Bernard Katzenstein

Bernard Katzenstein, 86, of Somers, NY, formerly of Dobbs Ferry, died peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026. He was born on April 18, 1939 in the Bronx to the late Anna (Nancy) and George Katzenstein.

Bernie loved spending time with his friends and family. He treasured every moment spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whether at big holiday gatherings or a simple conversation over meals. Bernie cherished time spent traveling with loved ones. He and his wife, Karen, along with close friends, were fortunate to explore many parts of the world together, including Europe, Asia, Africa and many other memorable destinations. Their favorite was Aruba, a place they returned to year after year. Bernie was also known for his love of nature and animals, especially his dog, Emily. He loved playing blackjack and watching football. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants and SUNY Brockport - where his grandson played and now coaches.

Bernie lived a full and meaningful life rooted in love and family. He shared a beautiful and enduring bond with his beloved wife, Karen, with whom he is now reunited with. Bernie was a loving father to his three daughters, Sherry, Lori, Wendy, and predeceased son Neil. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Michael, Marci, Christopher, Matthew, Deanna, Kristin, Nicholas, predeceased Stephen, Eric, and a cherished great-grandfather to Madison, Mackenzie, Morgan, Ryan, Lily and Grace.

Family and friends may gather at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY on Thursday, January 29th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm for visitation.
