PITTSFORD- Frances R. Cocuzza, a former Hopewell Junction resident until 2022, passed away at RRH Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY on February 2, 2026. She was 82.

The daughter of the late Frank & Rose (Borrell) Vassalo, she was born on March 30, 1943 in Beacon, NY. She attended St. Joachim School and later Mount St. Mary Academy. She would go on to graduate with her bachelor's degree in mathematics from Ladycliff College in Highland Falls. There, she was a member of the Kappa Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society. She was also featured in the 1964 publication of "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities" for academic achievement.

Frances worked for IBM in management positions in their finance and accounting departments at locations in Poughkeepsie, White Plains, Harrison, and Somers. She retired in 1993 after 20 years with the company.

Frances was a parishioner for many years at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. She was a woman of tremendous Faith. She volunteered with the 'Welcoming Ministry,' greeting Parishioners with her warm, beautiful smile.

Frances had many friends whom she loved dearly. She was extremely social and enjoyed her monthly lunches with her 'Beacon gals'. She continued friendships with her IBM colleagues and Ladycliff classmates. She especially enjoyed her trips to the casino with her lifelong friends.

On April 15, 1989, she married John J. Cocuzza in East Fishkill, who predeceased her on July 8, 2008.

She is survived by her children, Paige Cummings & her husband William of Pittsford, NY; her son Todd Constable & his fiancé Melissa of Wappingers Falls, NY; her daughter Paricia Strack & her husband Darren of LaGrange, NY; her son Robert Cocuzza & his wife Debbi of Clearwater, FL; her son Michael Cocuzza & his wife Heidi of Hockessin, DE; her grandchildren Robert J. Cocuzza (Kimberly), Jordan Strack (Cassie), Jocelyn Jones (Jack), Garret Cocuzza, Cara Cocuzza, Dylan Constable, Robert Constable, Chloe Constable, Parker Cummings, Quinn Cummings, Sloane Cummings; her nieces, Sharon Husted, Susan Landers (Thomas), Stacey Husted (Larry Massey); and 3 great grandchildren.

Aside from her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Caren Cocuzza in 2014, her sister Ann M. Husted in 2010, and her brother-in-law Edward Husted in 2018.

Calling Hours for Frances will be held on Friday, February 6th from 4 to 7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on, Saturday, February 7th at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Joachim Cemetery, 325 Washington Avenue, Beacon, NY.
