Stanley Lewis Brown, Jr., a local area resident for 38 years and formerly of Putnam Valley, NY passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at his home in Lagrangeville, NY on Saturday, January 24, 2026. He was 92.

Son of the late Stanley L. and Marion (Daniels) Brown, he was born in Elizabethtown, NY on August 5, 1933. In 1952, he enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged from active service in 1956 as a Hospital Corpsman.

He then pursued a degree in business administration and psychology at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. Around this time, he met his beloved wife, Stella Pierce. He was smitten and they were soon married on December 14, 1957 in Elizabethtown.

After graduating from Hartwick College, he worked for the State Bank of Albany and later pursued a lifelong successful career in sales, working for companies such as Dale Carnegie, Equitable Insurance, and IC System.

Stan was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lagrangeville, where he was former Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He previously belonged to Tompkins Corners Church in Putnam Valley.

An avid reader, he also enjoyed traveling, especially taking family trips to Hatteras Island, Outer Banks, NC. Stan could always be found working on various projects throughout his home and property.

Stan, affectionately known as "Stan the Man," lived a life of extraordinary service, through his dedication to country, his church community, and the Boy Scouts of America. More than anything else, he loved being in the presence of others and adored his family greatly. Stan will be remembered by all who knew him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He led a life of integrity and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. Stan and Stella remained happily married for over 68 years. Stella continues to live at home in Lagrangeville.

Additional survivors include his son, Scott Brown & his wife Laura of Fountain Valley, CA; his daughter, Shelli Flacinski & her husband Richard of Hopewell Junction, NY; his son, Shawn Brown & his wife Jill of Tuxedo, NY; his grandchildren: David Ramblings & his wife Lexi, Stephanie Brown, Riley Brown, Nicole Flacinski, Julia Flacinski, Kristen Flacinski, Ryan Brown, and Kaitlyn Brown; his sister-in-law, Brenda Teichman & her husband John; as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless other loving relatives & friends.
