Patrick M. Erickson, 74, of The Dalles, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2025, following a tragic event while doing what he loved … driving a semi-truck hauling grain for the annual wheat harvest in Sherman County.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Beverly; children Renee' (Gino) and Kenneth; grandchildren Kye and Tyler; and siblings Lloyd, Ruth, Alfred (Patricia), and Robert.

After 30 years of service as an I.T. executive, Patrick retired from Daimler Trucks N.A. His dedication to his work along with his passion for driving anything-with-an-engine, made it a natural choice for him to fulfill a dream of becoming a commercial truck driver - turning what had once been a career behind a desk, into his favorite pastime behind a steering wheel.

He was a classic car enthusiast who enjoyed getting together with good friends, repairing, restoring, and showing their prized treasures at car shows and other car-related events.

Patrick was a generous and active member of his community, supporting and volunteering for numerous local non-profits. As a former U.S. Marine, he remained a lifelong supporter of veterans' and military causes, including riding his Harley with the Patriot Guard to proudly honor those who served.

Patrick's final gift was as an organ donor and in keeping with his wishes, no formal service will be held. Friends and loved ones are encouraged to honor his memory in ways that reflect the impact he had.

Patrick will be remembered for his strength, kindness, mechanical know-how and care for others; his legacy lives on through all who knew and loved him.
