Patrick J. Farone

Patrick John Farone of Syracuse, age 83, passed peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Patrick was born in Syracuse, New York to Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Farone, Jr. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy and attended SUNY Oneonta. He began his career as a funeral director for the family business, Farone & Son Funeral Home, but his real passion was being a chef. He cooked at many establishments including the Villa, the Barge Inn, Riley's, LeMoyne Manor, and the Empire Room before opening his own restaurant, Farone's Café, where he created unique dishes, even naming two of them after his daughters. He was also especially proud of the fact that he hosted Bruce Springsteen and his entourage when he came to Syracuse. After his restaurant career, he continued his love of cooking by offering catering services, often assisted by his daughters.
Patrick had an avid appreciation for cooking, art, and music, and always savored every meal and libation. He had a big personality and an even bigger laugh that would fill any room. He will be truly missed.
Patrick is predeceased by his parents, Joseph Jr. and Antoinette Farone, sister, Jacqueline Price, and ex-wife/friend, Elizabeth Farone. 
He is survived by his brother, Anthony Farone, sister, Joan (Joseph) Pullano, daughters Collette (Cynthia) Farone-Goodwin and Christa (Hector) Medina, a son, Patrick Joseph Farone; his grandchildren, Leo Richmond and Troy Richmond; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 4th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at FARONE & SON, Inc. Funeral Home, 4899 W. Taft Road, Liverpool.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 5th at 9 a.m. at  St. John the Baptist Church, 406 Court St., Syracuse,  followed by the burial at Woodlawn Mausoleum.
