Patrick Louis Herwig

Patrick Louis Herwig, age 73, passed away at the home of his dear friend, David Sabol, in the Town of Egg Harbor, early Tuesday morning, October 29, 2024.
He was born September 27, 1951 in Milwaukee, the son of Patrick Robert Westcott and Dolores Alice (Tyszka) Westcott. Patrick grew up in Milwaukee and attended Washington High School. He was recognized for his superb vocal skills and was a member of the Madrigal group. Patrick graduated with the class of 1969.
He relocated to Door County more than 20 years ago and found himself working in retail. Patrick truly enjoyed meeting and getting to know the locals that live in Egg Harbor year-round. He missed his 10th anniversary at the Main Street Market by just 3 days. Patrick made many strong and lasting friendships within a business that treated him like family. Patrick enjoyed listening to all types of music from Broadway through the Classics. That music theme from his school days carried on through his life, even performing at occasional weddings.
Patrick took great joy in his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Then when great nieces came along, he was over the moon. Uncle might have been his favorite title.
Patrick will be missed by his siblings, Peggy (Dennis) Gielow of Menomonee Falls, Mary (Joseph) Hael of New Berlin, Victoria "Vicky" Westcott of Milwaukee, and Michael (Kristi) Westcott of Milwaukee; nephews and nieces, Craig (Jen) Gielow, Sean (Chiaki) Hael, George Westcott, Erin Hael, and Sophia Westcott; great-nieces, Suzu and Miya Hael; extended family: Aunt Alice Tyszka; many cousins; his Door County "adopted" family, including David Sabol, Lara Baker, and Wendy Corcoran; and his Main Street Market family.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol (Duane) Ollech; and brother-in-law, Dennis Gielow; and other relatives.

No formal services are scheduled to be held at this time.
