SOUTHBRIDGE: Patrick G. Hitlin, 79, of Clemence Hill Road, passed away on February 2, 2026.
Patrick is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley A. (Seaver) Hitlin, and his two sons, Keith Hitlin, along with his wife Meghan of Albany, NY, and Jody Kula, along with his wife Stephanie of Ohio. He also leaves behind three daughters: Trisha and her husband Chris Nichols of Chicopee; Amy and her husband Kevin Gallagher of Fairfax, VA; and Cheryl and her husband Sean McGee of Texas. Additionally, he is remembered by his stepson George Clemence and his partner Jillian Montville of Southbridge, along with his stepdaughters Christine and her husband Guy Gregson of Dudley, and Melissa and her husband Mark Peters of Southbridge. Patrick was a cherished brother to Steven Hitlin and his three sisters: Margaret Werring, Cecelia Schmaltz, and Pamela Maestrallis. He was proud to be a grandfather to 12 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Patrick was the son of the late Raymond and Helen (Coleman) Hitlin. He was a Vietnam veteren, serving his country with pride. He lived most of his life in the New York area before relocating to Southbridge several years ago. After dedicating 30 years of service to New York Telephone as a telephone jockey, he enjoyed a well-deserved retirement.
A valued member of the Living Word Church in Charlton, Patrick found joy in being part of his community. He had a passion for tinkering and had a knack for fixing just about anything. His hobbies included HO Scale Model Railroading, collecting rare stamps and coins, and he took great pride in the care of his lawns and gardens.
A private service will be held for his family to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Living Word Church at https://LivingWordWorcester.churchcenter.com/giving or to Tunnel to Towers, via their website at www.T2T.ORG.
