Patrick Hughes, 57, of New Hyde Park, New York, passed away on September 13th, 2025 tragically, but doing what he loved, taking his bike out on a beautiful day.

Born on May 25, 1968, in Miami, Florida, Patrick was welcomed into the home of Ellsworth and Theresa Hughes and raised in New York with his sister Susan, where his larger-than-life personality and creative spirit quickly shone through. He attended Notre Dame School, St. Mary's High School, and Herricks High School, and later spent a semester at Nassau Community College before realizing his true passion was working with his hands. He went on to build a long and successful career in construction, becoming a skilled craftsman and woodworker admired for his dedication and artistry.

As a child, Patrick loved spending time with his family and growing up surrounded by adventure. Some of his happiest memories were of the amazing trips they took together, from summer getaways, camping out in nature, to thrilling experiences like whitewater rafting. Those early days instilled in him a love of travel, fun, and shared laughter-values he carried with him throughout his life and later passed down to his own daughters.

Music was another lifelong passion for Patrick. From his early days playing in high school bands and winning Battle of the Bands with Crystal Vizion to his time in California pursuing the music industry, Patrick's talent and love for performing led him to share the stage with legendary artists, including Steve Vai. Even as life grew busier, music remained a core part of who he was. It was an escape for him from everyday life, and where he felt most himself.

Patrick also treasured traveling to visit his sister, Sue, wherever life took her. Whether it was the beaches of Hawaii or the mountains of Lake Tahoe, he cherished the time he spent with Sue and her late husband, Bob Christensen. Those trips gave him some of his most joyful memories, quality time spent with the people he loved.

After returning to New York, Patrick laid down roots in New Hyde Park. He married Francesca Belowski, built a home, and proudly raised three daughters: Paige, Cayleigh, and Samantha. Alongside running his own contracting business, Patrick poured his energy into his family, his friendships, and the many communities he touched. He eventually transitioned to working with DiCosimo General Contracting as a Carpenter, and loved working everyday with his brother in law, Andrew.

Family meant everything to Patrick. He and his family were always on the go together, filling their lives with traditions, laughter, and unforgettable trips. They vacationed summers in Cape Cod, made memories in Turks and Caicos, and shared the magic of Disney. Patrick was a constant presence in his daughters' lives-coaching volleyball, traveling to every single sporting event, and cheering them on through every milestone. No matter how busy life became, he never missed a big moment. Even if it meant driving his big construction truck into Manhattan after a long day's work, Patrick always showed up for the people he loved.

Patrick also cherished his lifelong friendships. From the wild days of growing up together and playing music, to the later years of softball games, concerts, and countless adventures, he kept those bonds strong throughout his life. His friends weren't just companions-they were family, and together they created decades of memories and wild stories about Pat that will be treasured forever. They will no doubt feel a large hole left by him forever.

A devoted fan of the New York Rangers, the Miami Dolphins, and the New York Mets, Patrick loved sports almost as much as he loved making people laugh. To know him was to have a story-funny, crazy, unforgettable. His loyalty, passion, and humor were constants, and his presence brought joy and light to those lucky enough to share in his life. He was always just being himself, trying to get others to laugh and have a good time. He will live on through these stories, and he has given us many.

Patrick is survived by his parents, Ellsworth and Theresa, his sister Sue, his daughters Paige, Cayleigh, and Samantha, and many friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Patrick will be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, and friend-a man whose music, laughter, and stories will live on forever.

The stage may be empty now, but the echoes of Patrick's laughter, music, and love will keep playing on.
